Beerthusiast - December 2021

This month's Beerthusiast box features some ultra easy drinkers, a mango brew by new Lilydale brewers Hop Hen and a wild Farmhouse IPA thanks from the folk at La Sirene. What a way to finish off the year! Plus catch up on Farmhouse Ales here: Farmhouse Ale - an old classic making a comeback!

La Sirene • fung IPA

Farmhouse IPA | 5.8% | 330ml
Drinkability: Savour

La Sirene are bringing their house yeast to the hop party and the result is tropical, boisterous and a satisfyingly dry.



Aether Brewing • El Jefe

Mexican Lager | 4.2% | 375ml
Drinkability: Quaff

Brewed using corn (to lighten the body) and agave (for flavour) this could be one of the most refreshing beers in the market. The agave brings a lot of herbal and fruity notes to a very easy drinking and enjoyable brew.



Stomping Ground • Big Sky

Park Ale | 4.3% | 355ml 
Drinkability: Quaff 

A good dose of tropical and citrus hop have this new brew balancing between an hazy XPA and Session IPA. Bright, cheerful, and loaded with flavour. Perfect for the park.



Coaster Beer • Bright Ale

Bright Ale | 4.2% | 375ml 
Drinkability: Quaff

This sub-brand of Kaiju is premiering with an ale that’s bound to get you in the moon to hit the road this summer!



Hop Hen • Mango Tango

Sour Ale with Mango | 4.2% | 375ml

For the first time at Carwyn Cellars, we’re pleased to bring you one of Victoria’s newest breweries straight from Lilydale: Hop Hen Brewing. This tropical and fruit loaded Mango Sour does not disappoint. Well balanced and not overly sour with mango as the main component, a summer party for your tastebuds.



Range Brewing • Hold Music

DDH Pale Ale | 5.6% | 440ml 
Drinkability: Sip

Very citrusy on the nose, with notes of orange peel and lemon zest. In mouth the hop flavour resembles papaya and provides a nice balancing bitterness with a dry finish. Hoppy all around, Range provides the goods once again.



Range Brewing • Crisp

Lager | 5.2% | 440ml 
Drinkability: Sip

From these hop experts we get an easy, but delicious thirst-quencher. Bready, with a balancing bitterness and Made with German malts and Czech yeast to bring the European summer vibes for this lawnmower beer.
