The One - June 2025

What's in the box:

Moor • Old Freddy Walker

Old Ale | 7.3% | Bristol, England

This twice Champion Winter Beer of Britain is inspired by times of old. Although brewed for the first time in 2011, it continues being revered today by connoisseurs and judges. A rich and full bodied with vine fruits, chocolate and dark roasts: “Christmas in a glass, all year long.”

Notes of Sultana Bran, Roast & Cigar, with some lovely Strawberry Esters and a dry finish.

De Glazen Toren • Odineke

Belgian Tripel | 8.5% | Erpe-Mere, Belgium

The Belgian brewers famous for their iconic “XX Bitter” Belgian IPA joins this box with their Odineke Tripel! Soft, fruity, slightly spicey and highly carbonated. It also happens to be the official beer of the town of Aalst where the brewery is located! It’s gotta be pretty damn ‘goed’!

Notes of red apple, underripe banana, with a very spicey nose and moderate bitterness. Highly carbonated for that extra refrashing and spritzy feel.

Duncans • Chocolate Quad

Imperial Pastry Stout | 10.0% | Paraparaumu, New Zealand | ⭐

If Willy Wonka ever opened a brewery, this beer would probably be ring that would run through the middle! Four different forms of chocolate (or cacao) went into this brew: cacao husk, nib, powder, and extract. Add a dose of lactose and vanilla for balance and the pastry kings of Aotearoa have done it once again!

A big, sweet, rich and flavour packed pastry ale that hides the booze but truly delivers the choco-goodness.

Range • Coast to Coast: Best Coast

West Coast IPA | 8.0% | Newstead, QLD Australia

We always hear the clamours for more Westies, and thanks to Range’s Coast to Coast series, we can finally purvey the tasty clear and dank froths we are craving, but with a modern twist. Add a dash of tropical paradise to this piney and resinous cauldron for some refreshing magic thanks to Krush, Citra, Riwaka, and Galaxy and the outcome is a modern West Coast DIPA about to blow your socks off!

Erdinger • Pikantus

Weizenbock | 7.3% | Erding, Bavaria Germany

Weizenbocks are the biggest German wheat beers you can probably have, and when it comes to this elusive style, it doesn’t get any better than the Weissbier expert hands of Erdinger! Expect a big body, dark colour, high carbonation and a whole lotta flavour! Just make sure to keep this in the fridge before opening to avoid a gusher!

Kicks • Tough Love

West Coast IPA | 7.5% | Marrickville, NSW Australia | ⭐

Kicks although only a two-year-old brewery, keep on building their reputation as one of the best IPA producers in NSW! A great deal considering the amazing breweries located there. We just couldn’t miss the chance to share their vibes and quality. This beer is packed with some quintessential dank hops of the likes of Columbus, Chinook, Simcoe and the neo-classic Strata. Pronounced bitterness, some stonefruit notes and some classic piney goodness, like the times of old.

Brasserie Fantôme x Traquenard • Esprit Valaisan

Saison/Wine Hybrid | 7.5% | Erezee, Belgium x Sion, Switzerland

We’re so happy to see that Fantome is still going strong... Dany Prignon, founder and head brewer has been trying to sell the business since 2023, looking to train the next era of people who will take over this historical farmhouse brewery. This is a Saison and aged on Valaisan grape must (20%) in collab with Brasserie Traquenard from Switzerland. No one does wine and beer hybrids like Belgian brewers do, so you’re in for a treat!

Range • Coast to Coast: No Sleep Til

Hazy Double IPA | 8.4% | Newstead, QLD Australia | ⭐

A massive Hazy IPA packed to the brim with bright hops! Now which coast is superior? This is the other Double IPA contender in Range’s ‘Coast to Coast’ series! Try them side to side (or maybe don’t, since it’s two Double IPAs, but hey we’re not your parents to decide for you). The light spiciness and delicious creamy breakfast juice character will take you on a ride to Juice town. Yum!

De Molen • Balcones 2024 Barrel Aged Imperial Doppelbock

Barrel Aged Imperial Doppelbock | 10.9% | Bodegraven, Netherlands | ⭐

With the news early this year of Brouwerij De Molen being in the process of closing, we feared that we wouldn’t get to taste any more beers from these Netherlands trailblazers. Luckily, we’ve managed to score a delicious amped-up Doppelbock aged in Balcones Whiskey Barrels! De Molen is due to close in September after their yearly international festival. We salute you De Molen! This beer has a lighter body than most Doppelbocks, but is packed with Whiskey flavour and incredible balance. An absolute delight.

Kicks • Quandary

Hazy IPA | 7.5% | Marrickville, NSW Australia | ⭐

Our curiosity knows no bounds, and when we see an experimental hop being used in an IPA, we honestly can’t keep our hands to ourselves. This Hazy brew by Kicks features the new HBC1019 alongside usual suspects Citra & Cascade.

Notes of Mango, Citrus and Kiwifruit, with a light creaminess due to its body. The assertive bitterness hits the spot, and it lingers. Not a NEIPA but a proper bitter Hazy IPA.

Bacchus Brewing x Carwyn Cellars • Charlotte's Dark Web

Peated Barleywine/Scotch Ale | 15.0% | Capalaba, QLD x Thornbury, VIC Australia  | ⭐

A unique Peated Barleywine/Scotch Ale. Originally intended for ‘Black Box 2025’, this collaboration sees us incorporate the big bold beers that Bacchus are known for, with one of our most recent Carwyn spirit collabs: the mighty ‘Darkness Port Charlotte 13yo Oloroso Cask’. Nothing light about this beer, just a delicious dark web of smoke and flavour.

Fifty Fifty • Eclipse: Frey Ranch 2024

Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout | 12.6% | Truckee, CA America | ⭐

A staff favourite on tap over Pint of Origin USA 2025. This tasty treat by FiftyFifty is part of their iconic barrel-aged ‘Eclipse’ series, where they showcase different bourbon producers or adjuncts in their Imperial Stouts. This dark nectar has sat for a minimum of 180 days in Frey Ranch bourbon barrels, an award-winning distillery based in Fallon (NV), only an hour and a half drive from Truckee (CA) where FiftyFifty is based. Flavour for DAYS!

BONUS: White Bay • Gantry Noir

Czech Dark Lager | 5.5% | Balmain, NSW Australia

A little extra treat as we are celebrate the start of a new era at Carwyn Cellars! This is one of the most elusive dark beer styles and one of the few Czech styles in existence. We know White Bay produces some fantastic lagers, and this beer is inspired by their Czech Pilsner formerly known as Gantry Crane. What a perfect little wintery treat! Perfectly refreshing but with those toasty notes that we love.
